DIY- Removing the Sleeves from a Dress
Before After
Last year I found this pretty jean dress at a thrift store. I had big
plans to cut off the top and turn it into a skirt. Then I got cold feet.
You see it fit so well that I didn’t want to cut it but the top
especially the puffed sleeves made me self-conscious. And so it sat
unloved in my closet until last week.
Regardless of the fact that it was drizzling I took some before pictures and got sewing.
Then I realized that the top was a little big in the bust area so I spent way longer than I should have making darts. I got a little obsessive making sure that they were EXACTLY the same on both sides.
The dress turned out great. It is now perfectly appropriate to wear to my 9-5 job. Especially on a beautiful sunny day where I pretend to be a vampire afraid of one of the few warm days we’ve had so far this year.
