Out to Lunch: Cindy Loohoo's Food Truck

Kai and I decided to have a lunch date and walked down to Cindy Loohoo's food truck a few days ago. Ignoring the "Come in, We're Open" sign in the window in favour of ordering from the window we spent the first ten minutes of our lunch break deciding what to eat.

This is really serious stuff because you never know when a food truck is going to be around so you need to make the right decision. After making a pro and con list, some humming and hawing, and a near nuclear disaster we decided on the Chipotle Chicken Burger  and the Stuffed Burger.

The burgers where great and I'll admit it I'm the kinda person that gets psyched for pickles on the side. The Chicken burger was tender with just the right amount of chipotle and (though I'm not one for spinach) the spinach inside brought the whole thing together. My favourite was the STUFFED BURGER this is as close as I've gotten to the burger of my dreams. Oniony and meaty with a slight cheese flavour. It was delicious. If you need any proof of this I've included a picture of me actually eating the thing.

Video DIY- How To make a Short Skirt Work/School Appropriate by adding Fringe

I had this short black skirt and wanted to make it so that I could wear it to my 9-5. You could also use lace instead of fringe if you want a less edgy more girly vibe to your skirt. I hope you enjoy.

DIY- Removing the Sleeves from a Dress

Before                                                                After
Last year I found this pretty jean dress at a thrift store. I had big plans to cut off the top and turn it into a skirt. Then I got cold feet. You see it fit so well that I didn’t want to cut it but the top especially the puffed sleeves made me self-conscious. And so it sat unloved in my closet until last week.

Regardless of the fact that it was drizzling I took some before pictures and got sewing.

Finally this cute little number got the makeover she deserved. I got rid of the sleeves that had a built in elastic at the bottom. That sentence should probably read- the horrible elastics that cut off circulation to your extremities.

Then I realized that the top was a little big in the bust area so I spent way longer than I should have making darts. I got a little obsessive making sure that they were EXACTLY the same on both sides.

The dress turned out great. It is now perfectly appropriate to wear to my 9-5 job. Especially on a beautiful sunny day where I pretend to be a vampire afraid of one of the few warm days we’ve had so far this year.
